Breaking Away to Expand Worldwide via the Cloud
ONGC presented the Management Team at Mii Home with a hybrid solution to address all their requirements. ONGC suggested the best way forward to provide the agility and scalability with the company required was to embrace the Cloud and in particular build the solution around Office 365, SharePoint and Azure platforms. Skype for Business was also rolled out to ensure better communication between staff both nationally and internationally. Local File storage and control was still required due to extremely large CAD files. This was addressed by leveraging Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V, RDS and Hyper-V replica across sites. New Windows 10 mobile devices are also scheduled to be rolled out in manufacturing areas for ease of document access.
ONGC has been able to showcase a best practice migration for the SMB space by creating a Hybrid environment that captured Azure, Office 365, (highlighting SharePoint, Yammer & Skype for Business), Windows Server 2012R2 and virtualisation technologies.
